In 2024, during his time at Edison High School, Lisner wanted to commission a work that could be performed each year as part of the commencement ceremony. He envisioned a piece that accurately reflected the high school experience and the growth of its students while also speaking in a way that felt deeply personal to the Edison community. Lisner sat down with his then-fiancée, now wife, Allie Lisner, and together they crafted the text for Journey On. Once the final draft was complete, he immediately contacted Casey Gorab, knowing that her musical voice would be the perfect complement to the text.
