| Known for his passion and expression, Josh Lisner is a conductor currently based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Lisner is pursuing a Master’s of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music, where he studies under Dr. Joe Miller and Dr. Brett Scott. Upon completion, Lisner hopes to immediately continue in academia with doctoral studies. From 2021-2026, prior to his graduate studies, Josh Lisner served as Director of Choirs and Vocal Music at Edison High School, in Edison, New Jersey. From the onset of Lisner’s appointment, the choir grew in size, ability, and resources. This includes major program growth achievements such as: tripling the enrollment (starting with just 68 students, ending 180+), growing fundraising efforts/resources (from simple small fundraisers to managing over $100K+ in funds annually), consistent superior and Best-In-Class ratings at competitions, program debut performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, commissions and professional recordings released online, and more. Under Lisner’s sound direction, Edison High School Choir transformed from a group of under 100 singers to a thriving, diverse program that produces leaders and high achieving students. Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Westminster Choir College, Lisner holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, where he honed his skills in pedagogy, conducting, and rehearsal techniques. His time at Westminster allowed him to receive world-class training while actively performing with industry leading collegiate choirs and orchestras, including the renowned Westminster Choir and Philadelphia Orchestra. Lisner regularly participates in professional development and master classes in conducting. Some programs include the prestigious International Conducting Training Program at the University of Cincinnati, the Interlochen Choral Conducting Institute, and Westminster’s Summer Conducting Festival, among many others. An accomplished soloist and chorister, Lisner sings extensively throughout the United States and beyond. His notable appearances include Carnegie Hall (NYC), where he has performed more than 20 times, as well as Lincoln Center (NYC), Marion Anderson Hall (Philadelphia), and Saint Peter’s Basilica (Rome). As a valued member of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, Lisner regularly collaborates with A-list musicians and has worked with Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Riccardo Muti, Joyce DiDonato, Renée Fleming, Joe Miller, and Nathalie Stutzmann, as well as many other industry leaders. Lisner was named a quarterfinalist for the 2027 Music Educator Award, and is a GRAMMY Award recipient for his work on Bradley Cooper’s Maestro. The film’s soundtrack received a GRAMMY Award at the 67th Annual GRAMMYs. At the heart of Lisner’s philosophy is the belief in the transformative power of music.
