In 2023, during his time at Edison High School, Lisner sat down to write the text for Rain. His vision was to create a work with a message that would resonate with students while also offering enough nuance to remain meaningful beyond the classroom. The result was Rain, a work that uses rain as a metaphor for the pressures of life—both as a powerful motivator and source of inspiration, and as something that can at times feel overwhelming and crippling. Reaching out to Sam Scheibe was the natural choice to bring the text to life through music.
