Bach’s epochal career; he finished it the year before he died. It’s “above and beyond every piece of music that’s been created for liturgical purposes\,” says conductor\, Yannick Nézet-Séguin. A setting of the complete Latin Mass\, it demands superlatives\, at the same time rendering them inadequate. Yannick’s mastery of vocal music\, the Westminster Symphonic Choir\, distinguished vocal soloists\, and the inimitable Philadelphia Orchestra will bring the Mass to life as a peak musical and spiritual experience for every listener.

DESCRIPTION:Westminster Kantorei starts its concert season with a traditional service of choral evensong for the Feast of All Saints. \nUnder the new direction of Dr. Jay Carter\, Westminster Kantorei is an auditioned chamber choir specializing in early music. Composed of graduate and undergraduate students\, the ensemble performs regularly with some of America’s leading specialists in early music\, including collaborations with the Dark Horse Consort\, Juilliard 415 and others. SUMMARY:Westminster Summer Choral Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Westminster Summer Choral Festival provides an opportunity to live\, study\, and perform in a professional-level choral ensemble composed of singers and conductors from around the globe. Under the direction of Dr. Joe Miller\, as well as several other renowned conductors from universities around the United States\, each year the Summer Choral Festival centers around rehearsals and performances of a different masterwork from the western choral repertory. Other features of a typical daily schedule include conducting master classes\, scholarly lectures and classes\, round-table discussions\, and one-on-one time with the conducting faculty. \nThe festival chorus will comprise 40 – 50 voices\, with soloists chosen from among them. \nAs some visitors to this site might know\, Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt was scheduled to serve as Guest Conductor for Westminster’s 2019 Summer Choral Festival.  The entire Westminster Choir College community mourns the passing of this great conductor\, and we are dedicating the 2019 Festival to his memory. We are grateful to Z. SUMMARY:Schola Cantorum Spring Concert
DESCRIPTION:Westminster Schola Cantorum is one of three curricular choirs at Westminster Choir College.  Composed of all students in their second year of study at the college\, this ensemble forms a vital link between the technique and artistry gained by students in their first-year experience at the college in the Westminster Chapel Choir and Westminster Symphonic Choir\, which performs with many of the world’s finest orchestras and is a cornerstone of the Westminster experience.  The second year of ensemble performance study focuses on refinement of ensemble skills combined with choral literature appropriate to both the musical growth and artistic understanding of the singers in the ensemble. \nWestminster Choir College is the only college in the world that focuses its program around a student’s choral experiences.  Unique to this experience is that students sing with their class for two years to not only build their artistry but to strengthen their sense of community and what it is to sing together.  This vision was the core value of the institution’s founder\, John Finley Williamson.  Westminster Schola Cantorum is also the only curricular choir that annually tours in the spring.  All students in this ensemble study with Westminster’s acclaimed voice faculty\, the largest voice faculty in the world.  In their second year of study\, students may audition for Westminster’s small ensembles: Westminster Choir\, Westminster Williamson Voices\, Westminster Kantorei\, Westminster Jubilee Singers and Westminster Concert Handbell Choir.  Many of the singers in Schola Cantorum are also members of those ensembles. \nThe ensemble’s 2017-2018 season includes a collaboration with Westminster Chapel Choir\, performing Brahms’s Liebeslieder Waltzes at the War Memorial in Trenton as part of Westminster’s Transforming Space project\, as well as a joint concert at Lincoln Center.  Additionally\, Westminster Schola Cantorum performed in Westminster’s annual An Evening of Readings and Carols in the Princeton University Chapel.  The spring includes a concert tour of the Southeast and a Homecoming concert in Princeton. \nIn past seasons\, the choir has performed major works in the choral repertoire:  Britten’s St. Nicolas\, Duruflé’s Requiem\, Poulenc’s Gloria\, Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna\, Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms and Rachmanioff’s The Bells.  In addition to its fall concert and spring tour\, the choir is one of the Westminster ensembles featured in the college’s popular Evening of Readings and Carols\, which is presented in Princeton in December. \n  \nTicket information will be posted here once available.

In 2010\, the choir premiered Whitbourn’s Requiem Canticorum. Past seasons have also included performances of Debussy’s Nocturnes with The Princeton Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rossen Milanov. In 2013\, the choir performed the US premiere in New York of Paul Mealor’s Crucifixus for choir\, orchestra and baritone soloist.  In April 2014\, the choir made its Lincoln Center debut at Alice Tully Hall performing James Whitbourn’s Annelies. \nThe choir has assembled an impressive recorded discography. It has recorded more than 30 choral masterworks on the Teaching Music through Performance CD box sets that are used by conductors around the world. The ensemble can also be seen and heard in the DVD The Empowered Choral Rehearsal: Choral Masterclasses with Simon Carrington.  It has six world premiere recordings to its credit\, including its 2011 recording on the Naxos label\, Living Voices: The Music of James Whitbourn. James Whitbourn’s Annelies\, performed with The Lincoln Trio; Arianna Zukerman\, soprano\, and Bharat Chandra\, clarinet\, was released by Naxos in 2013.  London’s Guardian newspaper wrote about the recording “The performance as a whole…is well prepared and palpably committed as befits a premiere recording.”  Gramophone lauded Williamson Voices on the Anneliesrecording as “exhilarating” and described the ensemble as singing “with a precision and finesse normally found in the best of the UK’s large chamber choirs.” \nIn 2016\, the choir released its third recording on the Naxos label\, a recording of Christmas music featuring the Missa Carolae of James Whitbourn\, which is performed each year at the Westminster Choir College’s An Evening of Readings and Carols concert\, as well as the CD Hole in the Sky on the GIAChoralworks label distributed by Naxos. Both CDs were No. 1 on the Amazon Classical Charts\, and both appeared at the top of the BILLBOARD Classical Charts. In February 2018 Silence into Light was released on the GIAChoralworks label.  A disc featuring the music of Ola Gjeilo will be released in the fall.  Its 2017-2018 season also includes the world premiere of Peter Relph’s Requiem.

SUMMARY:Schola Cantorum Fall Concert
DESCRIPTION:Westminster Schola Cantorum is one of three curricular choirs at Westminster Choir College.  Composed of all students in their second year of study at the college\, this ensemble forms a vital link between the technique and artistry gained by students in their first-year experience at the college in the Westminster Chapel Choir and Westminster Symphonic Choir\, which performs with many of the world’s finest orchestras and is a cornerstone of the Westminster experience.  The second year of ensemble performance study focuses on refinement of ensemble skills combined with choral literature appropriate to both the musical growth and artistic understanding of the singers in the ensemble. \nWestminster Choir College is the only college in the world that focuses its program around a student’s choral experiences.  Unique to this experience is that students sing with their class for two years to not only build their artistry but to strengthen their sense of community and what it is to sing together.  This vision was the core value of the institution’s founder\, John Finley Williamson.  Westminster Schola Cantorum is also the only curricular choir that annually tours in the spring.  All students in this ensemble study with Westminster’s acclaimed voice faculty\, the largest voice faculty in the world.  In their second year of study\, students may audition for Westminster’s small ensembles: Westminster Choir\, Westminster Williamson Voices\, Westminster Kantorei\, Westminster Jubilee Singers and Westminster Concert Handbell Choir.  Many of the singers in Schola Cantorum are also members of those ensembles. \nThe ensemble’s 2017-2018 season includes a collaboration with Westminster Chapel Choir\, performing Brahms’s Liebeslieder Waltzes at the War Memorial in Trenton as part of Westminster’s Transforming Space project\, as well as a joint concert at Lincoln Center.  Additionally\, Westminster Schola Cantorum performed in Westminster’s annual An Evening of Readings and Carols in the Princeton University Chapel.  The spring includes a concert tour of the Southeast and a Homecoming concert in Princeton. \nIn past seasons\, the choir has performed major works in the choral repertoire:  Britten’s St. Nicolas\, Duruflé’s Requiem\, Poulenc’s Gloria\, Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna\, Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms and Rachmanioff’s The Bells.  In addition to its fall concert and spring tour\, the choir is one of the Westminster ensembles featured in the college’s popular Evening of Readings and Carols\, which is presented in Princeton in December. \n  \nTicket information will be available soon.
